BACFO Pharmaceuticals (India) Ltd, a leading research-based ayurvedic
healthcare products manufacturer, has become the first company in Asia to
secure the most stringent international quality certifications.
The New Delhi-based pharma company has been granted ISO 9001:2000, Hazard
Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP-IS: 15000) and Current Good
Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) certificates from the globally reputed USA-based
certifying body AQSR. The ayurvedic company is already GMP certified by the
Indian System of Medicine.

"The need for international certification was felt as our customers are spread
across the world and for a client abroad it is not possible to differentiate
between different products," he said, adding that BACFO has presence in 10

Pankaj Rai, country manager, AQSR, said the certificates are a testimony that
each BACFO product is produced in ultra hygienic conditions by state-of-the-art
machines remaining untouched by bare hands, has passed quality checks and is
safe.
BACFO is also among the handful Indian companies that are certified with the
Indian System of Medicine. According to reports, only two per cent Indian
ayurvedic product manufacturers are certified with the authority though
certification is compulsory.
India has witnessed unparalleled growth in the ayurvedic system of medicine
across the world. The segment is growing at 26 per cent per annum higher than
any other industry in the country. "Faith in ayurveda is higher among
foreigners than among Indians, perhaps because it has no side effects," Chauhan
observed.
