Ayurveda, even though, being the oldest system of Medicine has
not gained the status it deserves in the global market. The reason behind this
is the low level of Research work, lack of modern methods in the production as
well as packaging of the products. During my 30 years of stay abroad and the
numerous seminars attended by me, I was delighted to notice the interest for
Ayurveda among the professionals, scholars and the consumers at large.
There is a steady shift, globally, towards herbal products that
are backed by Research and which have proven efficacy. The increasing incidence
of side effects from modern medicine is bringing everyone closer to alternative
therapy. Ayurveda has much to offer to the rest of the world. I have often
proudly claimed that the answer to the problem of AIDS, Cancer and other
chronic ailments lies in Ayurveda, which helps in building the body immune
system in a natural manner.
